THE ∙ AUTHOR

I am a native to the state of Indiana. I was raised in a small town outside of Fort Wayne and lived in the same house my entire growing up years. I always thought living in various surroundings seemed more exciting than staying in one place, and that opportunity came when I married my one and only – my man of almost 39 years. We’ve lived in four states and a European country, calling 18 places home.

I graduated from high school in 1979, and I went on to college and earned my Bachelor of Science degree. I majored in music and Bible, and I minored in drama. I was active in the arts, performing in and directing various musicals and plays, and I wrote programs and sketches and spoke for numerous women’s gatherings. From my teenage years and forward, I wanted to write a book, and my dream came true on October 29, 2021, when my first novel, Mind of a Leaf, waspublished. Its sequel, Falling Down to You, was added to my list of accomplishments in 2023. The final book to the trilogy, Beyond My Wall, is presently a work in progress!

I have been blessed with five amazing children! I thoroughly enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling them. I would never trade those special years with my family being closely raised and knitted together. Since then, my fold has increased with gaining their beautiful spouses, and I have two wonderful grandchildren that I can hold in my arms on earth and several I look forward to one day meeting in heaven.

In writing my novels, my desire went (and still goes) far beyond creating a story and writing it down. I’m not green to experiencing adversities, and I wanted to write a book that would be an encouragement to others that there is always hope of healing in any situation. I longed to write a ‘self-help’ book in story form for those who are struggling and seeking ways to overcome, and I feel my books reflect more than fictionally writing about life taking its unexpected turns and experiences of pain. They realistically approached the veracities of life which include joys and hardships, reward and devastations. And, though not every chapter may be enjoyable to read, these books, for some, are realities of life and are worthy to be addressed.

I hope you will read my books in such a way to see people who have been tragically abused and exploited in a different light. And if you have been blessed to have never experienced such unfortunate circumstances, you can empathize with those who have by gaining a better understanding of how their hearts and minds are deeply affected. And if you are one that has had unfortunate suffering, never given up – your healing can come.

Blessings,
